Colorbond Options

Overview

COLORBOND® steel is Australia’s most recognised coloured steel, manufactured by BlueScope Steel and designed to withstand Australia’s diverse and extreme weather conditions.

SMS includes both Contemporary and Classic colour ranges for COLORBOND®.

However, availability may vary depending on sheeting thickness and regional supply.

Why this is important

  • Ensures the correct steel finish and colour range is applied to the project.

  • Supports design flexibility for different environments and client preferences.

  • Provides options suitable for residential, rural, and industrial applications.

COLORBOND® steel

COLORBOND® steel is ideal for a wide range of building projects and is tested for durability, corrosion resistance, and colour retention.

ZINCALUME® steel

ZINCALUME® sheeting is a cost-effective alternative to COLORBOND® sheeting.

It features reflective properties in its surface coating, making it particularly durable and energy-efficient.

Important:
Due to its high reflectivity, ZINCALUME® should not be used near flight paths or locations sensitive to glare reflection.
This precaution helps prevent certification issues during the approval process.
