Colorbond Ultra
Overview
COLORBOND® Ultra steel is engineered specifically for buildings located in severe coastal or industrial environments. It is the recommended option where salt, salt spray, or corrosive industrial activity may affect standard steel performance.
Why This Is Important
Ensures long-term durability in areas exposed to salt, brackish water, or corrosive industrial elements.
Helps maintain warranty coverage—standard COLORBOND® products may not be suitable in these conditions.
Supports correct material selection during Site Specific Engineering assessments.
Understanding When to Use COLORBOND® Ultra
During Site Specific Engineering, the proximity of the building to coastal or industrial areas becomes clear. This determines whether COLORBOND® Ultra is required for the project.
Identifying Severe Environments
The yellow circle represents a 1 km radius.
-
If the building site is within 1 km of:
Salt or brackish water (ocean, rivers, waterways, lakes), or
Industrial activity causing heavy dust, chemical exposure, emission fallout, heat or moisture—
full warranties may not apply unless appropriate materials, such as COLORBOND® Ultra, are selected.
These indicators assist in determining whether the Durability Alert checkbox should be selected during engineering.
Availability
Availability varies depending on the Metroll depot.
Tips, Best Practices & Troubleshooting
Always check the project’s distance from the coast or industrial zones before selecting materials.
Use the Durability Alert map tool (yellow 1 km circle) when determining material suitability.
Confirm COLORBOND® Ultra availability with your local Metroll supplier early in the planning stage.
